I found an older Krups espresso machine in my parents house and brought it back to school with me. I cleaned the outside and ran distilled vinegar through it a few times then water to wash it out. However, when I looked inside, there is a lot of white calcified mold stuck to the walls of the machine. How do I get this out?

I am looking into purchasing an espresso maker for the first time. I dont really know how to work one yet, but I love the taste of espresso, cappuchinos, etc. I am just getting out of college so I dont have a lot of money to spend. I have been looking in the under 0 range, but most of the ones in this range have really bad reviews. I have no idea where to start, so I could use some suggestions.

I have a coffee maker that normally works. About once ever 1 ½ weeks its decides not to. When it doesn’t work it only brews half the water I put in it. It will brew the first half the cup and then just steams until I turn it off.
I’ve tried running vinegar through it, CLR as well. It usually works after doing that but then a week later it happens all over again. Anyone have any ideas?
The water is hard yes. What do you clean it with?
Speaking of hard water. The first time this happened was after I used CLR. Can’t see how that would cause anything though.
No matter how well-built an espresso machine, it is going to need gaskets replaced sooner or later. Every machine I’ve ever owned was so difficult to take apart and replace the gaskets than I end up damaging it.
Can anyone recommend one that they’ve repaired without much trouble?
