The Mukka makes a better-than-so-so faux cappuccino. Lower pot is large and very difficult to grasp firmly to tighten and loosen, especially for someone with weak hands, arthritis, etc.
I’m not a big cappuccino drinker, I would rather have cafe au lait, but that does make a good looking cup for those who drink it.
I just might have to buy one, so I don’t have to use my frothing wand separately when guests come over.
I just got mine. Did an experiment this morning and the whole thing BLOW !!!
Mistake (According to this video)
1) Don’t add 2 cup of water in the base
2) Once the lit pop. Don’t press it down again.
WARNING : Ignore this and the thing will BLOW !!! hahaha…*Serious….*
ooooo ya, ive got one of these beauties. They never let me down, even when im not in the mood for a cappuccino, this brings a great sigh of relief to my mind. I love the froth it produces, lulu enjoys it too. Lulu is my cow.
Just bought it on sale, and it did make a nice cup of cappuccino, one tip: better not to try open the lid to check it out when first time using it—cappu foam spread everywhere on my table… ^^
Can you use it without the milk? I’d rather not have to buy to different ones.
Try this: LEAVE THE LID OPEN to avoid the build up and overflow of milk, then it should just bubble to the top and not overflow..
I’ve made coffee in the mukka about three times now and it keeps getting cold. Any ideas why?
Seems that this way of making cappuccino leaves the milk rather under-heated. I got two Mukka Expresses – one with metal upper-body and one with glass one. And the cappucino made in the metal one is just enough warm to drink but the one from the glass express is just cold.
I don’t know what’s the difference excep int the material. Don’t think that thermal conductance of these two materials has any influence here.
Bought yesterday, had the best cup of cappucino I ever had. Tip: I added some sugar to the milk, which had it ready to drink instantly for those who like sugar, and sprinkled a tad of quality cinnamon on top. mmmmm
Full flavored coffee, yes….cappuccino, no. These moka pots do not generate nearly enough pressure to make true cappuccino. You can paint “henhouse” on any old shack but that doesn’t mean there are any chickens inside. Call it whatever you want to, cappuccino it aint.
I have made a couple of experiments with my mukkas and it seems that (as they say in the manual) the heat under it should be really low/small to get the coffee hot!
If you keep getting your cappuccino cold just decrease the heat under the mukka.
You can also sound like a douche on youtube
Can’t wait to try it!!!
This video is wrong, finely ground coffee will release to many volatile chemicals and your espresso will taste bitter. You should use a medium ground coffee.
@Dupasek would the same apply to the Brikka pot ? I’ve tried (from #0.5-3.0 on my stove) heats from 2-3 and many different grinds(from medium down to a bit more coarse than espresso) and so on and while I get great crema and everything and wait for 4 seconds after it pops up the coffee doesn’t get hotter than 160-175°F. Maybe the coffee is supposed to be no hotter than 175°F and drunk immediately ?

I know I am not getting a real cappuccino when I use this, but I LOVE it. It’s more like a Black Coffee Latte. I usually use Lavazza when it’s on sale or Medaglia D’oro. Perfect product!

Enough for a friend and I to share, awesome! I love my Mukka!
does the safety valve of moka bottom vessel have a hole to let steam out ? or is the valve plugged with lead and melts only when too hot ?
@DaDoCCiNoBaD61 awesome! mine is on the way.
