Coffee Maker Not Brewing Water?

I have a coffee maker that normally works. About once ever 1 ½ weeks its decides not to. When it doesn’t work it only brews half the water I put in it. It will brew the first half the cup and then just steams until I turn it off.

I’ve tried running vinegar through it, CLR as well. It usually works after doing that but then a week later it happens all over again. Anyone have any ideas?
The water is hard yes. What do you clean it with?
Speaking of hard water. The first time this happened was after I used CLR. Can’t see how that would cause anything though.

What to get my dad for Christmas?

Should I get my friend a wedding gift?

A friend of mine got married last weekend. Another girl and I threw her a bridal shower that cost us each about 0. I had originally planned to go to her wedding but was unable to on the morning of it, because my husband fell ill.
She came to my wedding and got us a coffee maker from our registry. She is not registered anywhere so that makes me assume that she wants cash.
Should I get her something for her wedding? Or something small such as a bottle of wine?
How much should I spend? I already spend 0 for her shower.
FYI thatashleychick, the ceremony and reception were two separate affairs and the reception was a buffet style meal at the groom’s parents home in a different city. We didn’t RSVP to the reception part, only to the ceremony part. Thank you for your suggestion.

We drink alot of coffee around our house and do very little laundry. We recently decided that having a giant coffee maker would be more benficial then our washing machine. How can we turn a 7 cycle, 2 speed heavy duty Rooper(Whirlpool) washing machine into a huge perkcolating coffee maker? What do we need to purchase? Unhook? Remove? and add to our machine to achieve this. Also, if you could tell us how to make donuts in our dryer that would be greatly appreciated. Thanks and we hope to recieve some feedback. We will post pictures online when completed so you all know your ideas were put to good use! Thank you and have fun!
Thank you to ewitt!! Im glad to see someone took me seriously. I would like to add that we are serious about this. and from what I have figured out on my own it wont cost near that much money unless you do it the hard way. we arent looking to make it look like a coffee maker to. Only have the use. And also I will add that I am a welder and I dont see that it will require welding. Mostly plumbing. Still accepting suggestions and ideas

Twice my superintendent has brought in this electrician. The first time he was here to fix an outlet, he claimed all our wires were through the ceiling (he did not break any walls or ceiling – this is based on the wire going up) and found one that he claimed wasn’t used for anything so he’d repurpose it. Turned out, it fed outlets on the other side of the room and we had to move all the plugs (so now the nearest plug was really full: we needed that plug to now power our lights in the room and our phone requires electricity to work).

Finally, he listens to our complaints that now the fusebox is crackling (the electrician did take it out during his repairs, the first time) and we needed to put everything on surge protectors because they happen so often. He comes in, takes out the fusebox and now the outlets in my kitchen don’t work. (I can live without my coffee maker, it’s weird making my toast in the hallway or bathroom – I now understand the warning "do not use toaster near bathtub" – but I am seriously going crazy without a light over my counter and the microwave is too heavy to move).

Does this guy even sound like a certified electrician? I can’t take a baseless complaint to the Ontario Housing Tribunal (if I go that route) without some sort of proof, but I can’t get the name of the electrician, let alone his credentials from the Super. Am I crazy to want someone competent fixing my electricity?!? This does not sound like a competent electrician to me.
Part of my problem is that I am a renter: I do not have a choice in who makes the repairs, unless I can demonstrate that they are breaking laws (usu. safety laws) with who they pick and get a Tribunal Judge to decree that I will make a safer choice and can deduct the cost from my rent. It’s all fine and dandy to say "get credentials" but he (the electrician) doesn’t have to tell me when I ask and I don’t even necessarily have the right to be in the apartment when they come to make repairs.

I need more descripition, more specifics.
This guy IS a certified electrician: my roommate asked the Super and apparently they photocopied his credentials (both certification and insurance) for the file at the main office. So once the electrician had been vetted, my super never asked any more questions.

What should I get my parents for their anniversary?

My parent’s anniversary is August the 19th and I have no idea what to get them!!! I wrote them a sweet poem, but I usually get a couple of things. Some info on them – My mom isn’t really strict and she loves to travel and explore. She’s really into fashion but she says I can’t buy shoes or clothes for her because they might not fit. My dad likes stuff that he can use or look at. Like if I bought a coffee maker or made a bird house or something. They prefer home made gifts, but I’m only 12 so I can’t really do that much. I’m very good at writing and art…Should I write a book for them? Thanks for the help!!
BTW it’s their 15th anniversary! :)
