I want to buy my parents a coffee/espresso combo machine for their anniversary but I don’t know which ones will last and work well. Links would be greatly appreciated!

I am going to be a freshman in college this fall and my parents got me the Nespresso Pixie espresso machine. On the housing website, espresso and coffee machines are not on the list of things not to bring, however it does say not to bring "food preparation machines". I wouldn’t really consider an espresso machine a food preparation machine, but just to be safe, are espresso machines generally allowed in dorm rooms?

How do I get my coffee to taste like coffee?

I have a Cuisinart coffee maker I just got this past January. It was tasting ok and now it tastes alot like water, no matter how much coffee I put in. I cleaned it with the instructions it came with and still tastes the same. What I don’t get is my fiances parents were over last week and they have a Cuisinart coffee maker also and her mother made it the same way they do and it still tastes like the way I make it. She made it the way she does back at they’re place and it tastes like coffee at they’re place. I don’t know what to do if she makes it like she always does and still tastes like the way I make it, Somethings wrong.
Its a 12 cup and I am thinking of getting a 4 cup Cuisinart coffee maker from Sears.

Any help would be great,
Thanks

How do I clean mold out of an espresso machine?

I found an older Krups espresso machine in my parents house and brought it back to school with me. I cleaned the outside and ran distilled vinegar through it a few times then water to wash it out. However, when I looked inside, there is a lot of white calcified mold stuck to the walls of the machine. How do I get this out?

Making cappucino with a Krups espresso machine?

My parents bought me a nice Krups espresso machine for Christmas, along with a cappucino accessory (basically, a metal pitcher to hold milk). In the instruction booklet, it says a cappucino is "1/3 espresso, 1/3 steamed milk, 1/3 froth." The instructions includes directs for "heating milk," but it doesn’t exactly say if it’ll make the milk froth.

Am I correct in assuming that, when I use the milk steaming attachment, it’ll do the frothing part as well?

Should I get my friend a wedding gift?

A friend of mine got married last weekend. Another girl and I threw her a bridal shower that cost us each about 0. I had originally planned to go to her wedding but was unable to on the morning of it, because my husband fell ill.
She came to my wedding and got us a coffee maker from our registry. She is not registered anywhere so that makes me assume that she wants cash.
Should I get her something for her wedding? Or something small such as a bottle of wine?
How much should I spend? I already spend 0 for her shower.
FYI thatashleychick, the ceremony and reception were two separate affairs and the reception was a buffet style meal at the groom’s parents home in a different city. We didn’t RSVP to the reception part, only to the ceremony part. Thank you for your suggestion.

I always change my coffee filter and use cold water from tap.
Maybe I will try brita water and see if filtered water makes any difference.

Thanks for all the answers so far
