		<description>It sounds like one of those old fashioned stove-top percolaters.

You can still get them. Any decent sized, up-market store will sell them.

To use

1. Fill bottom section with water. There is usually some sort of mark on the inside indicating depth.

2. Fill coffee insert with medium ground coffee, tamp down flat.

3. Put filter on top of coffee. Screw on top half. 

4. Put percolator onto heat until bubbling sounds stop. Be careful, it will be very hot.</description>
